About two years ago we installed tongue and groove concrete plank floor tiles in a client’s very high-end lobby near Palo Alto. This client has been very good to us over the years in having repeat work for us to perform. We came back recently and laid protection throughout the lobby, securing in place with blue painters tape. After one month of work, we removed the flooring protection to find “stripes” across the flooring as a result of pulling up the blue painters tape. We went through several experiments with our seasoned flooring installer, recommendations from the manufacturer, various waxes and buffing compounds, but nothing worked. We were at a loss and were about to order all new concrete flooring and put the client out for a few weeks to shut down their lobby. But another manager in our office had recently completed some well received polished concrete repair work on another job and referred me to Larry Walling. I contacted Larry and after a few job visits with the client, he assured us that he could restore the unique and natural look of the concrete tiles. During the process, I would visit the project a few times a day to see the professional approach Larry took in setting up a clean work area and being respectful of the clients incredibly delicate collectibles in the lobby by set up of protection. It was amazing to watch the progress and see the once highly visible lines slowly disappear. I was a little skeptical before Larry began the process but in the end, was pleasantly surprised and the client shared the relief as well. I would highly recommend Larry Walling to others and due to the nature of our business, I’m sure we will be using his expertise in the future.
